PlaqueTec is a healthcare startup that is transforming the diagnosis and treatment of Coronary Artery Disease. Coronary arteries supply blood, oxygen and nutrients to the heart and the disease is a leading cause of death worldwide.
PlaqueTec has developed a new sampling technology that enables site-of-disease biomarker analysis, to better characterise disease and how it varies between individuals.
THE BRIEF
PlaqueTec's technology collects biomarker samples from vulnerable plaque within coronary arteries. In order for the technology to be used by the medical profession, clinical researchers need to be able to interpret and analyse the data.
PlaqueTec needed a solution that would enable the data to be presented to their key audiences, making the benefits of their novel technology clear. Their key audiences are potential investors, researchers and pharmaceutical industry collaborators.

THE SOLUTION
We developed a cloud platform on AWS that has been used to demonstrate PlaqueTec's leading biomarker technology to their key target audiences.
The platform allows the secure upload of patient data and enables clinical teams to analyse the extensive biomarker data quickly and efficiently, with the ability to visualise in statistical plots (e.g. histograms, boxplots and scatterplots).
We worked closely with the team at PlaqueTec on this project, especially when identifying the best way to visualise the data.
The solution has given PlaqueTec's internal team greater insights into their own technology, accelerating numerical analysis of results and enabling new and different types of analysis.
We used our extensive expertise in AWS AppSync and Amplify technologies to allow us to create an effective solution for the project within the timescale and budget.
