THE CUSTOMER
Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is a world leader in real estate services, powered by an entrepreneurial spirit. They are a Fortune 500 company with nearly 300 corporate offices, operations in over 80 countries, and a global workforce of 86,000. Their vision is to reimagine the world of real estate, creating rewarding opportunities and amazing spaces where people can achieve their ambitions.
THE BRIEF
JLL wanted to drive innovation among their workforce and support emerging tech ideas from UK employees, so organised their very own internal ideation campaign and hackathon.
To make this a success, they needed support from trusted software experts with an understanding of the pitching process to help guide their candidates throughout their hackathon journey.
THE REQUIREMENTS
Our Directors, James and Jonathan, were delighted to support this project through:
- Mentoring the finalists and meeting each of them on a 1-2-1 basis
- Helping them refine and prepare their pitches for the JLL Board presentation
- Offering advice and drawing on their own experiences of pitching a business
- Visiting the JLL offices to provide this support over multiple months
"The support given by the Green Custard team for our first UK Hackathon was invaluable. Their wealth of software expertise and business experience helped the finalists refine their ideas by cutting out the noise, focusing on solving the real problem, and fundamentally articulating the value proposition."
Alex Edds,
Director of Innovation, JLL
THE SOLUTION
The JLL Hackathon celebrated the intelligence and ambition of JLL’s employees by encouraging the development of innovative tech solutions. With our software expertise and guidance, the participants developed their ideas for new market-facing tools to help both JLL’s clients and the business itself in the real world.
The winning initiative was ‘JiLL’ – a chatbot designed to assist staff – submitted by Richard Sansom.
“We really enjoyed being part of the hackathon, seeing innovation within proptech and helping the finalists with some really excellent ideas. Congratulations to all and especially to Richard for having the winning idea.” – Jonathan Custance, Director, Green Custard
